Minister halts sh386b road payments, Energoprojekt contract terminated
Byamukama, for example, said a road that is supposed to cost sh205b ends up costing sh500b. “The sh205b is used [and] again you find they have added in claims worth sh300b. Now the road goes to sh500b. This is not value for money. That is why they are talking about roads not being paid since 2010. These are not genuine claims. That is why the Government has refused to pay [them] since 2010,” he said. The minister also said all his predecessors who have held his job since 2010 rejected Energoprojekt’s ‘fake’ claims.
