Victoria Crocs’ Chuol Nyout says his team is focused on extending their winning streak and remaining at the top of the 2026 National Basketball League standings.

“Being top of the table feels good for us, but we know the season is still long. We must stay hungry, keep working hard, and respect every opponent we face,” Nyout said.

The Crocs are set to face Sommet BC on Friday at YMCA Wandegeya. Sommet currently sits in fourth place on the men’s table.

Victoria Crocs head into the matchup following a dominant 75-57 win over UMU Flames on Wednesday at Lugogo Indoor Arena. Nyout delivered an impressive performance, recording 23 points and 10 rebounds.

“We want to keep improving every game and extend this winning run,” Nyout added. “Our focus is on teamwork, strong defense, and staying disciplined to remain at the top of the table this season.”

Mark Ngobi supported the effort with 21 points, helping the duo push the Crocs to first place with four wins in five games.

From the opening tip, Victoria Crocs controlled the tempo with sharp ball movement and aggressive defense, keeping the Flames under constant pressure. However, occasional lapses in scoring left fans frustrated as several fast breaks failed to convert.

Aaron John Eboyu and Erick Komagum also contributed valuable minutes, but Nyout’s presence in the paint and Ngobi’s scoring touch proved decisive.

UMU Flames struggled to find consistency. Brian Rothwell led his team with 16 points, and Agot Agot added 14—the only Flames players to reach double figures.

Victoria Crocs have now secured wins against Kampala Rockets (83-62), UPDF Tomahawks (71-63), JKL Dolphins (63-51), and UMU Flames (75-57). Their sole loss came against Rezlife Saints.

UMU Flames remain winless after four games this season.

Friday’s clash with Sommet BC presents another tough challenge. Sommet holds a 3-2 record and recently defeated UPDF Tomahawks 73-62.

In earlier action at the same venue, UCU Lady Canons defeated KIU Rangers 51-40 to stay unbeaten in the women’s league. Sylvia Nakituuka led the Lady Canons with 11 points, the only player on her team in double figures. Anena Cinderella posted 14 points for KIU Rangers.

UCU Lady Canons top the women’s standings with a perfect 5-0 record.

Another women’s matchup on Friday will see KCCA Leopards take on Magic Stormers at YMCA Wandegeya.

Meanwhile, two games scheduled for Wednesday at the same venue were postponed due to bad weather and will be rescheduled. The affected fixtures were JKL Lady Dolphins against UPDF Lady Tomahawks and UPDF Tomahawks against JKL Dolphins.
