The victory earned at Olila High School grounds, moved Olila to 27 points from 10 games, four points ahead of Byafayo Queens commonly known as (Amus College School) in second position with 23 points.

Dorcus Lwalisa's double strike handed Olila Women’s Club all three points as they beat visitors Byafayo Queens 2-1 to go top of the FUFA Women’s Elite league in Victoria Group.

The victory earned at Olila High School grounds, moved Olila to 27 points from 10 games, four points ahead of Byafayo Queens commonly known as (Amus College School) in second position with 23 points.

Byafayo Queens had the opportunity to go top, but could only lose to Olila Women’s Club which was relegated from FUFA Women’s Elite League.

Lwalisa’s double which came in the 10th and 65th minutes of play saw Olila qualify for playoffs against She Corporates from Elizabeth Group.

The only goal for Byafayo Queens came from Esther Namataka during the 47th minute of the second half.

Pande Cifu, Olila Women FC coach attributed his side's win to the focus the entire team showcased during the tight game among the two contenders. 

“Our game against Byafayo Queens was not an easy one, but my team managed to overcome it. For now, our target is to ensure that the team returns to play in the FUFA women’s super league,” said Pande.

Olila in the first round lost 1-0 to Byafayoo Queens FC in a way game played at Mbale City Stadium.

“In football, it's only ninety minutes which divide the two parties, which happened between Byafayo and Olila Women’s Club the winners, for now, Olila has taken it next time will be ours,” Samuel Opio, games teacher at Amus College school said.

 

According to Opio, they aim to play in the FUFA Women’s Super League next season.

“So far, the team is so good, we shall now continue with our preparation waiting for the next outcome from FUFA,” he noted.

Teams in the Victoria group include Olila, Amus (Byafayo Queens), Lango Queens, Sacred Hearts, GYCO Girls and Echoes HS.
