He expressed the kingdom’s readiness to work with the central government in causing social and economic development in Buganda.

The kingdom of Buganda is very cosmopolitan, everyone from Uganda is here. So, when services are extended to the people in Buganda, every other Ugandan is a beneficiary,” noted Mayiga.

The premier cited an example in the area of health where the kingdom is working with the central government in the fight against HIV/AIDS through Uganda AIDS Commission and the Ministry of Health, as well as in campaigns against malaria and promotion of public hygiene.

In the area of education, Mayiga said the kingdom was grateful that President Museveni signed the kingdom’s university charter; Muteesa I Royal University charter on March 11, 2024, and donated to them a bus. Mayiga, however, reminded the President of the commitment he made to build a fully-fledged library at the university.

He also talked of the kingdom's views, which it submitted to the education review commission led by Amanya Mushega, saying the kingdom advocated for teaching history of the regions of Uganda in schools and teaching in local languages (Luganda in Buganda) up to senior four, as well as teaching agricultural and animal husbandry practices and ICT.
