Four arrested over murder of Bukomansimbi businessman

BUKOMANSIMBI - Police have finally arrested four people in connection with the murder of a prominent businessman in Bukomansimbi district.
The suspects have been identified as Charles Ssegawa, Marvin Kajjubi, Emmanuel Kalibala, and Junior Ssenkaayi.
The brutal attack occurred on August 15, 2026, at Kasenyi cell in Kigangazzi Town Council, where the suspects trailed and attacked Deus Mbandiwunfura (64) from his home.
Police investigations have revealed that the neighbours who responded to the alarm report that they found his body on the ground in a pool of blood.
According to Twaha Kasirye, the Masaka Regional Police spokesperson, the attackers hacked, stabbed and stoned Mbandiwunfura several times. He died instantly.
Kasirye added that the suspects had received information that the businessman had sold coffee and believed he was keeping more than sh3 million in his house.

After killing him, they searched the house and found sh700,000, which they grabbed, along with other valuable items before going into hiding.
“We've been tracking the suspects since the incident. We arrested one who disclosed details of the attack and everyone involved,” Kasirye says.
