KAMPALA - Ugandan content creators have been urged to embrace accuracy and fairness to monetise their content and enhance sustainability.

“Verify information before publication, reject misinformation and disinformation, avoid sensationalism, and use your platforms to educate, inspire and promote national development,” Ugandan filmmaker and commercial videographer Parvin Nyombi alias Director Pasha urged fellow content creators.

Nyombi encouraged young Ugandans to see digital content creation not only as a source of income but also as a tool for civic engagement and nation-building, stressing that ethical communication is essential to strengthening democracy and public trust.

He is recognised for building a career in Uganda’s creative industry through self-taught skills, commercial storytelling, and mentorship of young creatives, stressing the need for more training opportunities for content creators to sharpen their skills and align their content with ethical guidelines.

“With these trainings, we will not only gain knowledge and skills but also produce high-quality content that meets the expectations of our audience, but all in all is sticking to ethically acceptable standards,” he said.

Nyombi further encouraged aspiring bloggers and digital entrepreneurs to continue developing their skills and uphold professional standards that will strengthen the credibility of Uganda’s online media ecosystem.

“Creating content strengthens expertise, shapes the future, and improves one’s confidence. The world is closer now through digital connections, thereby demanding fresh thinking and new approaches.”

Nyombi reminded young people in his field, insisting that “Our goal is to help young people use social media to create economic opportunities without contributing to conflict or hate speech against others.
