Ugandan songwriter and artist Geoffrey Nkwanga, better known as Dokta Brain, was celebrated for his contribution to Uganda’s music industry as fellow musicians, fans and entertainment players gathered for the Dokta Brain Experience at Skyz Hotel Kampala.
The event brought together some of the artists who have worked with Dokta Brain, including Nina Roz, Winnie Nwagi, A Pass, Kataleya and Kandle, Pretty Banks, Karol Kasita and Dax Vibes, while performers such as Chosen Blood, Pawa Boy, John Blaq and Fefe Busi added to the entertainment.
Rather than being just another concert, the experience shone a spotlight on Dokta Brain's work behind the scenes, particularly his songwriting and creativity that have helped shape several Ugandan hits. The Pearl Africa Symphony Orchestra opened the musical tribute with a live rendition of some of the songs Dokta Brain has written for various artists.
The audience was taken through songs including Bera Nange, Sheebah Karungi's Nkujunkira, Pretty Banks' Insido, Winnie Nwagi's Musawo, Kataleya and Kandle's Nkuwulira, Rema Namakula's Go Go Mama, and Nsi Namba, showcasing the breadth of his songwriting catalogue.

At exactly 10:08pm, Dokta Brain finally took to the stage, performing songs including Sijja, Juju, Oli Kuki, Akaloosa, Dembele and Nkuwulira, before treating fans to his collaborations with Kataleya and Kandle and Rema Namakula.
The crowd sang along as he moved from one song to another, turning the evening into both a celebration of his catalogue and a rare opportunity for fans to experience his music live.
Dokta Brain told the audience that the event was not a concert in the traditional sense, but rather an experience designed to connect him with the people who love and appreciate his work.
“It is not a concert. It is an experience meant to bring me closer to my fans and the people who love my work and appreciate my talent and dedication to music,” he said.
Nina Roz, one of the artists who has worked with Dokta Brain, said the songwriter deserved recognition for his contribution to the industry.
“Dokta Brain deserves his flowers for the good work he has done for the music industry. He has given several artists hit songs. He gave me a hit song called Wanji. Talented people like him need to be appreciated so that the world gets to know them,” she said.
