MTN Uganda posted a marginal gain on the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) on July 27, 2026, closing at sh428.07 after adding sh0.07.
The counter recorded one of the stronger trading volumes of the day, with 22,397 shares changing hands. Stanbic Holdings exchanged 37.1 million shares and closing 0.18% higher at sh82 per share.
Both Stanbic Holdings and MTN will be paying shareholders final dividends for the fiscal year ended December 2025 before end of July.
NIC was the day’s biggest gainer at USE, surging 8.96% to close at sh7.30 on thin volumes. Airtel Uganda also traded positively, rising 0.55% to sh171.00 with 3,100 shares traded, maintaining its position as the largest company by market capitalisation at sh6.8 trillion.
Quality Chemicals Limited (QCIL) edged up 0.12% to sh159.19. Most other listed securities, including BATU, BOBU, DFCU, NVL, UCL, and Umeme, closed the day's session flat.
