Ten-man Vipers returned to winning ways in the Uganda Premier League with a 2-0 over URA at St Mary's Stadium.

Eric Kambale and Abdul Lumala each had a goal for the Vipers.

Vipers coach Lenord Neiva said his side lived up to the occasion.

"It's proven that Vipers have a great squad and that's why we were able to play without four key players. We are satisfied with the result and what is important we won. We started well but before we relaxed a bit. But we shall improve," noted Neiva.

Vipers didn't have Yunus Ssentamu, Milton Karisa, Bright Anukani, and Jack Komakech, among others who had travelled with the Cranes for the World Cup qualifiers.

Former KCCA player Allan Okello who joined Vipers made his debut, and Neiva feels he will add a lot to the team

"He needs match fitness. But he played well. I believe we shall try to see that he  improves just like the team," said Neiva.

However, this was URA coach David Obua's second game with a win.

"I want us to play more football. I know Vipers are the champion but let's win with a certain style of play. Our opponents got two giveaways and we were punished," reasoned Obua.

"I love more from my losses. We shall come again. I'm not scared. We need to teach these boys how to play football. We are going to play. We are going to play like that. The methodologies are built over time. We shall get there without those mistakes," noted
