Express v Onduparaka

Police v URA.

Express will be looking for their fourth victory in a row when they host Onduparaka at Wankulukuku stadium today at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

The Red Eagles also have a chance to move within touching distance of the league leaders Vipers if they win.

Express that is sixth in the league with 42 points, 12 above ninth-placed Onduparakaare still plotting to finish in the top four, and interim coach James Odoch believes such games allow them to achieve it.

“We’ve been working on a few issues ahead of our game against Onduparaka FC on Friday like our defence because we’ve been conceding unnecessarily especially in our last three games, but at least we’ve tried to work on it," stated Odoch.

"Friday’s game is a bit challenging because Onduparaka FC has done well against us previously. We’re also aware that Mohammed Shaban has been scoring, so we’ve prepared well to ensure he doesn’t score. Our target remains finishing in the top four and we can only do that by winning games."

The Red Eagles will rely on Eric Kambale who has scored 8 goals this season while Onduparaka will look to Muhammad Shaban who has netted 13 goals.

Express will be without their goalkeeper Denis Otim who is nursing a cut on the eyebrows which he picked up on national team duty. Mahad Yaya Kakooza and Godfrey Lwesibawa will also not be  available as well. However Express will welcome back assistant captain Abel Etrude from an injury.

"The team is well prepared ahead of our game against Onduparaka FC on Friday. We respect Onduparaka FC but we’ve also been on a good run and that will be motivation enough to earn maximum points. I am also happy I’ve managed to return from injury and when I get the opportunity, I’ll do my best to help the team win," said Etrude.

Onduparaka which has won its last four games will continue to build on that against Express, according to technical director Dudu Bosco

"We are set for the game. Express is defending champion much as things are not working for them. But still, they are like us, they have also picked momentum and they are winning games. We wish to collect as many points as possible in the remaining games," noted Bosco.

Elsewhere, Police will host URA at MTN Omondi stadium in Lugogo. Coach John Luyinda will be in charge of his first game following the saving of head coach Abdullah Mubiru.
