Victoria 28 Kyambogo 0
Victoria University kicked off the Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) Games in emphatic fashion, thrashing Makerere University 22–0 before dismantling Kyambogo University 28–0.
The Kampala-based side sent a strong message to their rivals, signaling their determination to reclaim the title they lost to Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) in the previous edition.

In other round-robin fixtures, Makerere University overcame Kampala University 14–7, while Uganda Martyrs defeated Kyambogo 17–5 before crushing KIU 47–5.
Victoria’s scoring spree was spearheaded by Aaron Tukei, Hecta Twinomugisha, and Hamphrey Ndahura, who bagged two tries, while David Awanyi added another.

Coach Kevin Makmot expressed confidence in his team’s campaign. “Last time we relaxed and lost a game, handing the trophy to UMU. This time, every game is a final, and each win motivates the boys to go stronger for the next one,” Makmot said.
With such a commanding start, Victoria University has firmly positioned itself as one of the frontrunners in this year’s AUUS Games.
