Express FC continued with their poor run of results as they went down to Wakiso Giants 3-2 in the Uganda Premier League.

Kenneth Kimera, Andrew Samson Kigozi, and Shariph Kimbowa each had a goal for Wakiso while Joshua Mukose and Yasser Mugerwa were on the scoresheet for Express.

The result saw Wakiso move to the 12th position with 23 points, six below eighth-placed Express. Vipers lead the standings with 40 points.

This was the second game for coaches Baker Mbowa and Sulaiman Mutyaba who took on the team’s coaching mantle a week away and replaced Alex Isabirye and Augustine Nsumba.

One of the things that forced Isabirye to resign was because the environment at the club was no longer conducive.

Isabirye also blamed the club management for failure to look into the critical matters that are affecting the progress of the team.

Mbowa and his technical team joined a club that is financially constrained since the players have gone several months without pay and they have a lot to do if the motivation of the players is to be lifted.

Elsewhere, Pius Wangi scored a brace before Sadat Nsubuga, Joseph Akandwanaho, and Benson Muhindo added the other goals as Mbarara City thrashed Gaddafi 5-0 at Kakyeka stadium.

The league will resume on Thursday as table leaders Kitara face URA at Masindi Stadium while Busoga United will battle Soltilo Bright Stars at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.
