Vipers and Bright Stars are the only Uganda Premier League sides that have dodged facing fellow teams in the topflight in the round of 16 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup following the draws that were successfully held at FUFA House Mengo on Monday.

The Venoms who are the holders of this competition will be facing Eastern Uganda regional side Iganga Young while Bright Stars will play FUFA Big League leaders Police FC.

Gulu City’s Pajule Lions will face Buganda regional side Young Simba while Doves FC will challenge Pakwach Young Stars for places in the last eight.

The rest of the pairings have heavyweight Uganda Premier League clubs where KCCA will travel to Mehta stadium in Lugazi to face David Obua’s URA FC, red-hot Kitara FC will host SC Villa at Masindi stadium, whereas Busoga Utd and NEC will negotiate each other at Kakindu stadium in Jinja.

The other exciting meeting will be between 2022 winners BUL FC who will host their former coach who guided them to this success Alex Isabirye now head coach of Express FC.

KCCA and Express are joint record holders of this competition having won it 10-times each.

The winner gets an automatic ticket to represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup.
