Popular Ugandan musician Edirisa Musuuza, also known as Eddy Kenzo, made use of a campaign rally in Obongi district to heap praise on President Yoweri Museveni.

He praised the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party presidential candidate in the 2026 general election as a national and continental hero before performing for him while waving a yellow T-shirt.

This was shortly after the President arrived at Lionga Boma Grounds in Obongi town council on October 17, 2025.

Kenzo, who also serves as president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation and as a senior presidential advisor on creatives, began by scoffing at critics who claim the party lacks youthful supporters.

“There are so many people who are saying that we don’t have the youth. Your Excellency, the President of the Republic of Uganda, you are the king of the ghetto, the king of the jungle, the modern king of Uganda, and we all love you and believe in you,” he told Museveni, who was seated alone in a special tent watching him.

“You are very loved, you are our hero, and we will love you forever and for life. God bless you, Your Excellency, God bless Uganda. For God and my country,” he said.

Before leaving the stage, Kenzo thrilled the large crowd as he performed for the President, who has led the country uninterrupted since 1986.

He led the excited crowd in waving NRM yellow T-shirts as he shouted, “Museveni Oyee.”

Kenzo asked the crowd to raise their hands to prove that they would vote for Museveni in January 2026, which they did.

“This is what we mean, Your Excellency,” Kenzo, who was dressed in a yellow T-shirt, told the President, gesturing towards the crowd.

His request to perform for the President was granted by NRM secretary general Richard Todwong after Kenzo had energised the crowd for almost an hour before the NRM candidate arrived.
