ARUA - Like in the rest of the districts in West Nile, President Yoweri Museveni has a strong appeal to the people of Arua district and City to support the National Resistance Movement (NRM) to enable him continue with the battle against poverty.
Already, he said, a lot has been achieved since the NRM came to power. He said in Arua District and Arua City, there are a total of 120 government primary schools, with 50 in the district and 70 in the city.
In addition, the President said, Arua District has seven government secondary schools and none in the city.

"For someone who has been here for a long time, seeing this progress makes me very happy," the President said.

Present to receive them were the Speaker of Parliament, Annet Anita Among, and her deputy, Thomas Tayebwa, NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong, several ministers and local leaders.

Several foreign nationals turned up to show their support to President Yoweri Museveni.
The President said that his plan for Arua is to improve health service delivery through upgrading Orivu Health Centre III to a Health Centre IV and upgrading Lazebu Health Centre II in Arivu Sub-county to a Health Centre III.
He also wants people to have incomes in their homes. Through videos played on large screens, the President brings various examples of young people who have benefited from the free-of-charge Presidential Skilling Centres, where they acquire life skills that transform their lives.
Like in Skilling Centres, the president asked government aides schools, both primary and secondary to stop charging children school dues.
