On the campaign trail, our teams on Friday, captured every defining moment as presidential candidates canvassed for votes from border to border. From Busia in the east to Obongi in West Nile, they documented every rally, bringing you the pulse of the presidential campaign trail.

In West Nile, President Yoweri Museveni continued his bid for a seventh term in office, campaigning in Obongi and Moyo districts. Having spent the week combing through every part of the sub-region, the incumbent emphasised the need to protect and consolidate the gains of the NRM government, which nears 40 years in power.

In Busia, National Unity Platform (NUP) party president and presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu spent the day rallying supporters. Even before he could set off for his scheduled events, crowds had already gathered outside his hotel, cheering and chanting his party slogans in anticipation.

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) flag bearer Nathan Nandala Mafabi took his campaign to Pallisa and Butebo districts, where he urged voters to trust his leadership to steer Uganda toward greater development and accountability.

Meanwhile, Maj. Gen (Rtd) Mugisha Muntu, the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) candidate, traversed Mubende and Mityana, engaging voters and laying out his plans to deliver inclusive governance and sustainable growth once entrusted with their mandate.

Here’s how it all unfolded; a visual journey through the day’s campaign trails, captured in striking pictures.

In President Yoweri Museveni's camp, the day began as usual. As early as 8:00 am, NRM party supporters were already in a celebratory mood as they awaited the President's arrival.

As they waited for him, they were entertained by popular musician Eddy Kenzo. His hit songs kept the supporters energized.

When the President arrived, his supporters erupted in excitement, cheering loudly to show their support.
