A military source confirmed the arrests, saying they were part of ongoing investigations sanctioned by Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba. “Yes, they were arrested this morning in the ongoing investigations sanctioned by the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba. I am not at liberty to speak much on the nature of the investigations being conducted against the two and several others,” the source said.
The arrests of Brig. Gen. (rtd) Charles Bakahumura and Maj. Gen. (rtd) Abel Kandiho, conducted on September 09th, indicate that they are connected to investigations into alleged security-related offences that have widened within the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).
