Police in Nebbi are investigating a case in which two people were arrested for alleged possession of military and government stores.

The joint operation was conducted by police, the UPDF and other security agencies on June 19, 2026.

The West Nile regional police spokesperson, Josephine Angucia, said a search at the residence of Isaac Obedgiu and another suspect identified only as Cosmas led to the recovery of assorted military and government items.

She said the recovered items included binoculars, handcuffs, military footwear, marijuana and other materials.

The two suspects are being investigated and, upon sanctioning of their case file, will be taken to court to answer charges related to possession of military and government stores.

In a related development, police on June 20, 2026, conducted an intelligence-led operation in Kirabu area, Arua City Central Division, which led to the recovery of nine more suspected numberless motorcycles.

The operation followed a similar exercise conducted on June 16, 2026, during which 27 suspected stolen and unregistered motorcycles were recovered from a hotel parking yard linked to the same suspect.

A case of motorcycle robbery was registered against the suspect, and the motorcycle was recovered, together with 26 other motorcycles.

Angucia said that on June 19, 2026, the same suspect led police to the recovery of a robbed motorcycle, registration number UGC 425C, which had been kept among other motorcycles in a parking yard located in Kebir cell, Kenya ward, Central division, Arua city, on Onduparaka Road.

Angucia said the nine unregistered motorcycles have been parked at the police yard together with the previously recovered motorcycles pending further inquiries.

She appealed to people whose motorcycles were stolen to report to Arua City Central Division and identify them.
