Police are investigating a case in which 30 head of cattle and 10 goats were allegedly injured on a farm in Kamira Town Council, Luwero district.
The incident is reported to have occurred on Tuesday, June 30, in Kaswa village.
Savannah Regional Police spokesperson Sam Twiineamazima said the complaint was lodged at Kamira Town Council Police Station by Betty Nabukenya, acting on instructions from her father, Erasmus Kigaba.
According to police, the complainant alleged that 30 cows and 10 goats kept on Kigaba's farm were injured under circumstances that are now under investigation.
The suspects have been identified as Ssuka Bawona, Ali Kakooza, among others, all residents of Namuningi village in Kamira Town Council.
Police officers responded immediately after receiving the report and registered a case of injuring animals.
Scene of Crime Officers also visited the farm, examined and documented the scene. Detectives also recorded statements from the complainant and the cattle keeper to support the investigation.
Police said some of the alleged suspects fled before officers arrived because the area where the incident occurred is expansive.
Investigators have since launched a manhunt for the suspects, who will be charged in court once apprehended.
Police said inquiries are continuing to establish the motive behind the alleged attack on the livestock and the circumstances under which the animals sustained the injuries.
