A Ugandan believed to be behind a fraudulent tour and travel company is wanted by the Police over allegedly duping over 350 job seekers with promises of lucrative opportunities in Canada, the UK and the Netherlands.
The suspect, identified as Christian Asiimwe alias Don Chris, aged 32, is the proprietor of SkyPiNN Travel and Jobs, a company that is now under investigation for running a massive employment scam.
Speaking to reporters at the Police headquarters in Naguru, internal affairs ministry spokesperson Simon Mundeyi on July 14, 2025, said, “We received 56 new complaints in just three days, and over 350 people have fled their homes in despair. This man took their money with promises of jobs abroad.”
While some individuals reportedly travelled through his company, Mundeyi urged Asiimwe to come forward and present his side of the story.
“We’re not saying all tour and travel companies are fraudulent. But none are officially licensed to handle employment for countries like the US, UK, or Canada,” Mundeyi clarified.
He cautioned the public to always verify with the Ministry of Internal Affairs or the Ministry of Gender before engaging any tour agency for overseas employment.
