Over sh1b raised in CDF Kainerugaba birthday run

Over shillings one billion was raised on April 26, 2026, to celebrate the 52nd birthday of Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who also doubles as Special Presidential Advisor on Special Operations. 

In a statement shared on his X-platform, Kainerugaba said: I am happy to announce that we raised over sh1 billion during the birthday run. I shall soon announce the charities we shall support and hand over cheques to them. Thank you all for your support.

The MK@52 Run drew top officials from security agencies, government, private firms, and the general public. On Monday, Kainerugaba thanked everybody who supported in whichever way to the success of the run for charity and hope. 

"You are all the best Ugandans we have. Thank you so much for contributing to the betterment of less fortunate citizens. I will announce how much we raised and what charity we shall support. God bless you all, "he said.
