FORT PORTAL - Tooro's new King, Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I, has appointed Paul Nyakana Businge Akiiki as his interim principal personal assistant.
Principally, he will serve as the monarch’s official spokesperson.
“He will officially be handling all my communications,” said Nyabongo in a letter dated September 15, 2026.

Nyabongo succeeds the late Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV as King of Tooro. Oyo died on September 27, 2026, at the age of 34 years in a US hospital.
Nyabongo will be enthroned on September 29, 2026.
