Murder of family of 5: Masaka court remands 3 suspects

Three people accused of killing five members of the same family in Masaka city were sent back to jail on remand on Thursday.
The two men and one woman appeared at the Masaka Chief Magistrate Court presided over by Aloysious Natwijuka.
The suspects are Vincent Samali aka Kyote, Dan Ssegujja and Everyln Nassali.
During their appearance in court, seven counts of murder and aggravated robbery charges were preferred against them.
The chief magistrate said the charges filed against the suspects and others still at large are of capital nature and only triable by the High Court.
The prosecution team led by state attorney Harriet Nakigozi is accusing the suspects of hacking to death five family members in Kijonjo village, Kamwoze parish in Buwunga sub county on June 23 this year.
The victims and their ages were: Emmanuel Mutesasira (52), Proscovia Ndagano (32), Nakavuma Nakamanya (13), Shivan Nakasagga (5) and Robert Kiyimba (2).
Court heard that the suspects also robbed a television set, mobile phones and a decoder from Mutesasira and Ndagano, before killing them.
Court adjourned the case until August 3 for further mention.
