Hundreds of qualified applicants have today (August 24) turned up at Kololo Independence Grounds as the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) recruitment exercise entered its final day.
The nationwide recruitment exercise is aimed at filling personnel gaps created by retirement and the completion of service by other members of the force.
The final verification exercise in Kampala was conducted by Team Two of Kampala Extra led by Brig. Gen. Allan Kalanzi.

“We are ensuring that every candidate is thoroughly verified and only those who meet the required educational and medical standards are recruited,” revealed Kamya.
In mid-July, the UPDF announced 10,400 vacancies for regular recruits and professionals.
Regular recruitment targeted Ugandans aged between 18 and 22 years who hold a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
“We are ensuring that every candidate is thoroughly verified and only those who meet the required educational and medical standards are recruited,” revealed Kamya.
