Questions emerge on King Oyo’s successor

In a statement announcing the death of the king, Tooro Prime Minister Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire quickly indicated that the king had left behind a son who would be unveiled at a later date in accordance with Tooro customs. President Yoweri Museveni, in a condolence message, also said Queen Mother Best Kemigisa informed him by telephone that the late king had left a son; however, the Omusuuga (head of the Babiito royal clan), Charles Kamurasi, dismissed the information and declared himself king.
