Police in Gulu city have launched investigations into the mysterious disappearance of Betty Layika, a 42-year-old former National Resistance Movement (NRM) contestant for the Omoro district Woman Member of Parliament seat.

According to him, efforts are underway to retrieve the victim’s call data to establish her last known contacts and movements before she went missing.
Mudong added that the individual who initially reported the matter left the police station before providing a detailed statement, but has since promised to return to assist with investigations.
“We urge the public, especially anyone who may have seen or interacted with Layika Betty on the night of her disappearance, to come forward and share information that may assist in locating her,” Mudong appealed.
