Court starts hearing Rubongoya petition against minister Kabanda

The High Court has today morning (September 14) started hearing an election petition in which National Unity Platform Secretary General Lewis Rubongoya sued the minister for Kampala, Hajat Minsa Kabanda, challenging her victory as the duly elected Member of Parliament for Kampala Central.
In a suit filed through his lawyers; Frank Lovins Wadidi, Jonathan Erotu and William Jaferson Okwera, Rubongoya sued Kabanda alongside the Electoral Commissioner and the returning officer for Kampala district, claiming that the minister was illegally declared the winner of the January 15, 2026, elections.
