Christians in Arua Diocese have been urged to live in love and unity. The call was made by Fr Dominic Bileo Matoni during celebrations marking the belated silver jubilee of his priesthood on June 20, 2025.

Fr Matoni revealed that the celebration was supposed to be held in Congo but was moved to Mutu-Alivu in Ediofe Parish, Arua Diocese, due to an Ebola outbreak.

Former Ayivu County MP Bernard Atiku urged young boys to take up the vocation of priesthood.

He also emphasised that education is the foundation, saying no one can become a priest without education.

Arua city mayor Lawrence Alionzi used the occasion to appeal to residents to cooperate with people working on the Ediofe-Onduparaka Road.

Edward Manze, the LC1 chairperson of Alivu cell, thanked Fr Matoni for celebrating his 25 years of priesthood in the area.

Fr Matoni, who currently serves in Italy, came to Arua Diocese to mark 25 years since his ordination.
