Ugandan chef Dorcus Kirabo, popularly known as Mama D, continued her Guinness World Record cookathon at Velocity Bar & Grill in Kyanja, Kampala, Wednesday, July 8, 2026, drawing supporters as the marathon entered its third day.
Cheers, music, and the aroma of freshly prepared meals filled Velocity Bar & Grill in Kyanja today as Mama D pressed on with her Guinness World Record cookathon.
At midnight, Mama D kicked off the day's menu.
"For the day, I started with fish rolex, fried chicken, cow leg sauce (molokony), offals, and noodles. I also made boiled eggs, beans, kikomando, and sausages for breakfast," said Mama D.

The meals were served to supporters who turned up at the venue to cheer her on during the record attempt.
For lunch, the chef prepared fish, rice, and cowpeas, continuing to showcase a diverse selection of dishes while maintaining the pace required for the marathon. "I would like to call my lovely crowd, come and join us," she said. For the late evening, she is going to prepare vegetable rice and fish stew. She promised to serve those who will turn up.

Despite preparing meals continuously, she takes only a five-minute break at the end of every day.
However, the adjudicators for the cooking marathon are based in London. "There are no adjudicators in Africa," asserted Mama D. They rely on evidence from video footage captured by a camera placed in front of her.
Today, she showed no visible signs of fatigue, only stretching a few times now and then.
Meanwhile, at the same venue is Rebecca Kenyena Karugaba, popularly called Becky Bakes, who is also gunning for the baking world record. It is her first day, and she intends to go up to four days. The mother of four was born in Kabale in 1990 and owns a bakery and a baking school.

Becky brought much-needed excitement to Velocity. On her first day, various free cakes were served to all who turned up to witness her marathon.
She applied to Guinness World Records to join the marathon. The judges are following her progress on camera.
