Where can Kitara FC finish this season?

After their hard-fought 1-0 win against KCCA FC last Friday at Philip Omondi Stadium, Kitara FC ramped up their fan's optimism even further.

Friday football under the floodlights sent the Royals' exuberance to another level, the stadium was rocking and loudest before kickoff, and it was hard to listen to KCCA fans who had equally attended their home game in numbers.

For the neutrals, it was a dreamy evening, for a Uganda Premier League game to have such energy and excitement from the first minute to the last seconds of the game.

It is increasingly becoming hard to doubt Kitara FC as a title contender, a team that has picked six points both home and away from a KCCA team that had been hard to defeat on their turf.

Furthermore, players, coaching staff led by Brian Ssenyondo, and management are very confident in their team to pick maximum points in every game naturally increases optimism.

Registering 36 points in 18 games and scoring the most goals this season is purely a stunning feat for a club that got promoted this season, so it is not outlandish to say they are in the title race with just two points behind leaders BUL FC and five ahead of Vipers SC in the third position but with two games in hand.

The hard evidence is there to back up all the wild thoughts of every Kitara fan about this dream of winning the title.

However, during his visit to the Urban TV sports show (The Sport Light) last week, Deo Kasozi, President at Kitara FC emphasized that their target for this season is a top-five finish but he is confident the title can be achieved only if they keep the momentum until the end of the season.

The difference for Kitara FC from other teams in the league is that they have the confidence and belief and that is the most important thing, especially for a team that is trying to unsettle the status quo.

Another thing, they have shown they can match any team in the division.

Questions will be asked, how far can Kitara FC go and where will they finish? The next six games will be enthralling. They will face fifth-placed Villa in the Cup round of 16, then travel to Maroons, then welcome URA at home before BUL Fc, NEC, and Vipers.
