The Uganda Golf Club transformed into an oasis of sophistication last Wednesday evening as MARU Credit hosted its sixth edition of the monthly MARU Club Nite.
Under the theme "Timeless Tees," Kampala's business elite and golf enthusiasts converged for an evening where financial acumen met sporting excellence, all set to the timeless rhythms of Uganda's legendary Afrigo Band.
The carefully manicured greens became a runway of sorts, with the city's movers and shakers showcasing a masterclass in sporty elegance. Gentlemen paired their golf polos with tailored blazers and premium leather loafers, while the ladies elevated the dress code with flowing midi dresses, sharply cut jumpsuits, and bold accessories that caught the fading sunlight perfectly.
"This isn't just another corporate event," remarked Joshua Mazune, MARU Credit's Managing Director, as he surveyed the gathering. "We're creating a movement where business relationships are forged on the fairways as naturally as they are in boardrooms."
The tournament results proved equally impressive: Bertram Mpora claimed the Men's Overall title, Judith Komugisha dominated the Ladies' category and Mark Rubatsimbira took Guest honours.
Other standout performances came from Andrew Opio, Jerry Owachi, and ladies' winners Wendy Angudeyo and Hasifa Karungi, whose swings were as precise as their evening wear was polished.
As twilight fell, the Afrigo Band took the stage, their brass section glinting under the strategically placed lighting. The crowd, now loosened by premium cocktails and successful networking, swayed to classics that spanned generations - a fitting metaphor for MARU Credit's own approach to financial services.
"Six months ago, we envisioned this as more than sponsorship," Mazune reflected. "Tonight proves we've created a platform where deals get done, friendships form, and Uganda's business community grows stronger - one golf swing at a time."
With offices in Bugolobi and Ntinda, MARU Credit continues to cement its reputation as a financial partner that understands Uganda's unique business landscape, both on and off the course.
