Transfer Roundup: URA FC land Yiga, Lugazi FC rebuild with four signings
Coach Jimmy Kintu Mwera's side has signed former KCCA FC attacker Alex Yiga on a two-year contract, while Lugazi have brought in four players.

Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC) and Lugazi FC have added to their squads as they look for better results in the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season.
Coach Jimmy Kintu Mwera's side has signed former KCCA FC attacker Alex Yiga on a two-year contract, while Lugazi have brought in four players.
Yiga, who can play on either wing or in an advanced central role, gives URA more pace and creativity in attack.
The young forward said he is ready to work hard and help the Tax Collectors meet their targets.
"I am very happy to join URA FC and I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this great club. I am ready to work hard, learn and continue improving as a player," Yiga said.
"I know the club has important targets this season, and I want to play my part in helping the team achieve them. I will give my best in training and whenever I get the opportunity to represent URA FC."
Yiga came through the KCCA FC Soccer Academy and joined the senior team ahead of the 2023/24 season.
He first drew attention after helping the KCCA Junior Team win the 2022 Cambiasso International Tournament in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
He later featured for the Uganda Cubs at the 2022 CECAFA U-17 Championship in Ethiopia, where Uganda finished third.
Last season, Yiga made 16 league appearances for KCCA and also scored against Onduparaka in the Uganda Cup.
The Tax Collectors are eighth on the league table with three points from two matches.
They return from the international break on October 9 to host KCCA FC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, in their fifth league match.
At Lugazi, the club has signed left-back Alex Akankwasa, Rashid Abdulahi Kawawa, Francis Onekalit and John Kokas Alou as part of its squad rebuild.
Akankwasa joins after playing for Kooki Ssaza in the Buganda Masaza Cup and Shan Davids in the 2026 Hamz Cup.
He previously played for the URA junior team before moving into the senior side, and has also featured for Mbarara City and Dragons in India.
Kawawa previously played for NEC, Onekalit for SC Villa, while Alou joins from Entebbe UPPC.
Lugazi had already added several players before the latest signings, including Dickson Mataama, Livingstone Mulondo, Emmanuel Munoobi, Cromwell Rwothomio, Musa Ssali and Frank Katongole.
The changes come as Lugazi try to improve on a mixed start to the season.
The Leaders opened with a 2-1 home win over Kigezi HomeBoyz before losing 3-1 to NEC at MTN Omondi Stadium.
They then beat Entebbe UPPC 1-0 at Hamz Stadium but lost 2-0 to Police at Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe.
Lugazi return from the international break on October 7 with an away match against Maroons at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
