Sport-S 3 UCU 0

Sports-S secured the National Volleyball League title in a spirited battle at Old Kampala on Sunday night to defeat UCU 3-0(25-23, 25-14, 26-24).

After winning game two on Saturday, it was obvious that Sport-S had momentum and took advantage of that momentum to disseminate all that UCU had done.

Sport-S coach Benon Mugisha was very impressed with the team's display and believes the players are the ones who have made this happen.

“I owe this performance to the players. We played as planned and kept together as a team,” Sports content

Sport-S secured new players in the centre and some power attackers who made life complicated for opponents in the league.

Without a doubt, UCU gave as good as they possibly could but Sport-S had done just enough to destroy them. They couldn’t contain the pressure from the occasion and coach Juma Osunge believes the inexperience hurt them.

“The inexperience crept in for us. We made very many errors and got punished,” said Osunge.

It was a positive season anyway considering the club almost survived relegation last season. For them to come back and finish in the finals is impressive but the new headache for the team will be the fact that they will lose some senior players who will graduate in October.
