Rugby Cranes captain Ivan Magomu believes his charges will beat Kenya to lift the Elgon Cup.

The Rugby Cranes step onto the Jomo Kenyatta Mamboleo Stadium in Kisumu determined to defend a one-point margin achieved during the first leg at Kings Park Arena in Bweyogerere, Wakiso district.

Magomu said they reviewed the first leg game and addressed some areas that were wanting, and the boys are ready to go.

“We know what we want. We are ready for the game and will give our best to bring the trophy back to Uganda,” Magomu said.

In 2012, Uganda won the Elgon Cup on a 19-17 aggregate after beating Kenya 19-5 in Kampala but lost 12-0 in Nairobi.

That is exactly what is expected when coach Fred Mudoola's men take on Curtis Olago's charges in the final of the Elgon Cup.

The Nile Special sponsored Rugby Cranes starting squad is expected to have Saul Ssenteza, Faraji Odugo, and Asuman Mugerwa to prop, Charles Uhuru, Eliphaz Emong will lock, Byron Oketayot, Joachim Chisano will be in the flank, Mark Omoding with be the eighth man.

Conrad Wanyama and Ivan Magomu will be in the Scrumhalf and Fly Half respectively. Experienced Michael Wokorach and Eric Mulamula will take charge of the centre while Timothy Kisiga will be the full-back.
