Ten-time champions City Oilers remain the team to beat in the men’s National Basketball League after winning 14 of their 15 games this season.

The Oilers top the standings with 29 points and head into Game Week 14 on a five-game winning streak, underlining their experience and dominance.

Close behind are the Namuwongo Blazers, who have won 13 of their 14 matches and boast the league’s most potent attack with 1,104 points scored so far.

Rezlife Saints continue to surprise many after climbing to third place with 26 points, while KCCA Panthers and UCU Canons remain firmly in the playoff race.

At the bottom end of the table, Kampala Rockets, UPDF Tomahawks and UMU Flames are under pressure to improve as the fight for playoff qualification intensifies.

In the women’s division, JT Lady Jaguars lead the standings with 30 points after winning 14 of their 16 matches. The Jaguars have been impressive on both ends of the floor, scoring 1,086 points while conceding only 711.

However, UCU Lady Canons remain close behind with 28 points and two games in hand, keeping the title race alive. KCCA Leopards and JKL Lady Dolphins also remain strong contenders after consistent performances throughout the campaign.

Further down the table, Angels and Nabisunsa Girls continue battling for survival and improvement.

In Wednesday’s women’s fixture, Pearl Queens take on JT Lady Jaguars at Lugogo Arena. The league-leading Jaguars enter as favourites due to their consistency and strong defensive record. They have won four of their last five matches and possess one of the league’s strongest attacks. Pearl Queens sit sixth with 23 points.

At the same venue, JT Jaguars face defending champions Namuwongo Blazers. The Blazers arrive in excellent form after winning their last five matches and remain serious title challengers. They also possess the league’s best points difference at +309. JT Jaguars, however, will be desperate to bounce back after losing four of their last five games. Another defeat could seriously dent their playoff hopes.

At ABJA Park, Miracle Eaglets meet Magic Stormers in another women’s contest. Magic Stormers start as favourites after showing improvement in recent weeks with three wins in their last five outings. Miracle Eaglets have struggled defensively all season, conceding 956 points – one of the league’s poorest defensive records.

KCCA Panthers will also face Kampala Rockets as they seek to strengthen their top-four ambitions. Despite sitting fourth with 25 points, the Panthers have struggled for consistency. Kampala Rockets remain rooted at the bottom with only two wins all season and come into the game on a five-match losing streak.
