National Basketball League
Today
KCCA v UPDF (YMCA)
Jaguars v Rockets (Kira)
Victoria v Oilers (Abja Park)
Three losses on the spin have left the KCCA Panthers in free fall, their impressive performance in the National Basketball League (NBL) first round beginning to feel like a distant memory.
Today at the YMCA, Raymond Muhumuza’s side take on the UPDF Tomahawks, ordinarily a straightforward contest but one rendered slightly unpredictable in light of KCCA’s losing form. Moreover, the Tomahawks have won two of their last three outings, accounting for 50% of their wins this season.
KCCA have seven wins in 14 games thus far, but none in the second round yet. When the two sides met four months ago, KCCA edged UPDF by three points, an outcome that seems likely ahead of the contest that may have a huge say about how the two clubs’ seasons end.
UPDF are fighting for survival, while the Panthers are eyeing a top-four regular-season finish.
Two more games round out today’s action, the league-leading City Oilers battling the Victoria Crocs at Abja Park and the JT Jaguars and Kampal Rockets clashing at the Jaguars Den in Kira.
