Ntare School alumni amassed 378 points to win the third edition of the Clash of the Titans Golf Championship held at Entebbe Club on Saturday.

Ntare fielded 24 players, with Sam Kacungira leading their charge with 41 points. They beat the defending champions, St. Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK), by 18 points. Namilyango College finished third, just as they did last year.

It was all celebrations for the Mbarara-based Ntare School alumni after their captain, Paul Ndyaguma, received the overall winner’s trophy from the Attorney General, Kiryowa Kiwanuka, who was the chief guest.

The annual championship attracted a record 264 golfers representing 15 former schools in the growing event, which for the first time also included a girls’ schools’ competition.

“We were very organized; we had a gallant team of good golfers, so we chose our best players and decided to give it our all on the course. We missed it by a point last year, but we were determined to take it this year,” Ndyaguma said. “We are super excited because we knew we wanted it, and we are happy we got it.”

The champions included prominent golfers such as Philemon Akatuhurira, Collins Mwesigwa, Ivan Ahimbisibwe, Alexander Matsiko, Adoch Luwum, Nobert Kagoro, and Paul Nuwagaba, among others.
