The long-awaited fixtures for the National Netball Super League Division 1 were unveiled on Monday, setting the stage for an exciting season.

Defending champions Prisons enter as favorites, with coach Nourdine Kato confident in his team's title defense after two years of preparation.

"We've brought in fresh talent and studied our players intensely," Kato said. "This team is ready to perform, and I can't wait to see them in action."

The opening weekend promises fireworks as KCCA face off against record champions NIC in what could be an early indicator of title contenders. All matches will be hosted at Nakivubo Stadium, with teams challenged to bring their best from the first whistle.

In a significant shift for Uganda's premier women's sport, the league is transitioning from free entry to ticketed matches, ensuring consistent revenue for the federation. The first round will primarily take place at Nakivubo, with plans to expand to upcountry venues like Busia—home to a newly constructed netball court—in the second round.

As the competition adopts a more professional structure with weekly matches, netball fans can expect a season of high stakes and thrilling performances.
