Netball Uganda will soon start benefitting from their partnership with Dr. Manoj Joshi MBE DL, a British Community and Business leader in the United Kingdom.

Appointed in April as the volunteer Director of International Partnerships and Sponsorships for Netball Uganda, Manoj has wasted no time in implementing his task.

He has already begun forging valuable connections that promise exciting developments ahead. He has established partnerships with foundations, universities, sports federations, and key stakeholders to support the growth of Netball Uganda.

He has secured sponsors, donors, and funding partners to strengthen Netball Uganda’s financial base and promote the She Cranes as a leading sports brand in the UK and internationally.

Among other roles, he is also expected to initiate international training programs, exchanges, and tournaments to enhance the competitiveness of the Ugandan national teams.

His meeting with Jennifer Fields, Sisters N Sports, who agreed to support She Cranes with kit is one of the deals to be formalized before the end of this year. He has also built relationships with England Netball alumni, Leeds Rhinos, Bradford Bulls, universities (Durham, Bath); opened talks on stadium development and exchanges. Additionally, he has secured in-principle pledged support from Aagrah Group, Speedfresh Exotica, Bradford Bulls, Lauren Palmer networks, Sisters N Sports (kit).

Manoj has also already raised the She Cranes profile at 30+ major UK events; media coverage in Bradford Telegraph & Argus, Asian Standard, BusinessDesk.Com. He has also linked the She Cranes to cultural festivals (Bradford 2025), youth academies (Bradford Academy), and proposed practice matches and scholarships via Durham/Bath Universities among other connections and collaborations. He has also met with Met GFVE Universal Consulting (Global Chamber) to discuss stadium and sponsorship opportunities.

“Significant groundwork has been laid to position Netball Uganda (She Cranes) for long-term international sponsorship, partnerships and visibility. The engagements have brought She Cranes into the consciousness of UK sports, diaspora, business and cultural leaders, creating a strong foundation for the next phase of structured sponsorships and development programs,” Manoj stated.

According to Manoj, who formalized his appointment on Sunday in Kampala, he is set to formalize sponsorship contracts with pledged partners between next month and May 2026. He will also host the first UK-Uganda Netball Business Roundtable early next year and finalise Memorandums of Understandings with at least three UK institutions for training, scholarships and exchanges, in addition to launching a She Cranes UK Ambassadors Network from diaspora and sports figures.
