Netball Uganda has unveiled a 14-player squad that will represent the country at the Celtic Cup, scheduled for November 26–30 in Scotland.

“These are our flag bearers—the pride of this nation. The country is looking forward to Uganda reclaiming its place at number six in the world rankings,” Ucanda declared.

She also expressed gratitude to the government for its continued support in funding the team ahead of two major competitions.

“I would like to thank the Government, who have always stood by us. They have released funds for our participation in both the Celtic Cup and the Africa Cup. We have a large pool of players, and we intend to add more to the group that will travel to Malawi for the Africa Cup,” she explained.

While notable names such as Norah Lunkuse and Mercy Batamuliza have been dropped, Ucanda emphasized that the current calendar remains strong, filled with players capable of making a difference.

The squad blends seasoned campaigners with youthful energy, a formula that has consistently defined the She Cranes brand. The team will begin residential training camp next week before departing for the United Kingdom on Sunday, November 23.

Veteran Racheal Nanyonga has been named team captain, with leadership support from her deputy.

The 14 players selected are: Mary Nuba, Ajio Lillian, Achola Lillian, Baagala Margret, Nakitto Christine, Nalwanja Shaffie, Nassaka Shakira, Aya Gloria, Specioza Namukose, Racheal Nanyonga (captain), Falidah Kadondi, Malisera Akello, Shadia Nassanga, and Namulema Fildauce.
