Uganda’s second-tier league FUFA Big League promotional king Richard Makumbi has started his new job at Lugazi FC with two consecutive wins.

Makumbi, whose side beat beat Onduparaka 2-1 on Saturday, returned to Lugazi FC last week for the second time, replacing William Kyeswa who was relieved of his duties at the club.

The hosts scored first through Faizal Matovu in the 18th minute before the visitors equalized in the 89th minute through coach-player Samson Caeser Okhuti.

However, Makumbi made vital substitutes when he brought on Paul Wasswa to replace Ronald Ssempala, Samson Ssemugugu for Mose Buga, Solomon Akodi for Derrick Ochen, and Fadili came on for Freedom Mungudit.

Ssemugugu scored the winning goal in the additional five minutes to beat Onduparaka, who have now lost five away games this season against Blacks Power FC, Kiyinda Boys FC, Kigezi Home Boys, and Jinja North United FC.

Lugazi sits third in the log with 17 points, behind Blacks Power FC and leaders Police FC. Onduparaka are seventh.
