Kitara coach Brian Ssenyondo and player Denis Omedi have won the Pilsner Uganda Premier League awards for February.

Omedi who scored five goals in four games won the accolade ahead of Patrik Kakande and Isaac Wagoina of SC Villa and Express respectively.

He hailed his fellow teammates for the milestone he achieved.

“I achieved this accolade because of teamwork and support from my fellow players and technical team. This is not my award but for all those who have supported me. I also dedicate this award to my fellow teammate Brian Aheebwa who lost a dad. I also thank the organizers for recognizing me. I have been hearing about awards and worked hard to benefit from them one day,” Omedi stated.

Ssenyondo who won the accolade ahead of Hussein Mbalangu of NEC and URA’s David Obua said that this will continue to motivate him.

“This means a lot to me, especially because it motivates me to perform. I want to thank the technical team, and secretariat for what I have achieved since its team work. I want to thank fans since their support makes us strong,” reasoned Ssenyondo.

Kitara won three games and shared spoils in the other in the four games they played last month. They defeated KCCA (1-0), UPDF (3-0), and Wakiso Giants (1-0) and played to 1all draw against SC Villa.

Apart from the accolade both Omedi and Ssenyondo each walked away with sh1m.
