Saidi Kirarira carded an overall 64 net to win the November MTN Monthly Tees tournament at Entebbe Club on Saturday.
Kirarira edged his nearest competitors, Musa Baguma (67 nett) and Ronald Osekeny (68 nett), who topped the men’s Group C and B, respectively, to win his third overall monthly competition following earlier overall wins in April and July.
The handicap 11 player beat the over 100 players who took part in the month's competition to the biggest gong, consequently strengthening his grip on the tournament's Order of Merit leaderboard. He now leads the order of merit standings with a total of 764 nett (543 net) from his best eight rounds, ahead of Arthur Arinaitwe (551), Musa Baguma (557), Ssubi Kiwanuka (565), and Mathias Kalule (568) from their best 8 rounds, in the top five.
Despite topping the ladies’ competition over the weekend, Rukia Nalwoga remains fifth in the ladies’ order of merit with 570 from her best 8 scores over the last 11 rounds, with one to go.
It is instead Esther Aganyira, who is on 537 net from her best 8, who took over leadership from Peace Hellen, who topped the ladies group B on Saturday. Hellen remains second with 543 nett from her best eight, as Edith Wamalwa (561) and Maxi Byenkya (566) remain third and fourth, respectively.
