Janda tops the Entebbe April Monthly Tees tournament

Nice Janda carded 67nett to win the Entebbe Club MTN Monthly Tees Tournament for the month of April at Entebbe Club.

Playing off handicap 31 Janda beat over 150 golfers to the top prize as she also strengthened her top-three position in the overall order of merit standings. After four outings, Janda has a total net score of 294, ten below second-placed Maxi Byenkya and below leader Peace Hellen, who is on 276.

On Saturday, Peace Hellen, who won the season opener in January, narrowly lost the ladies Group A accolade to Willemien Hamminga, who returned 70nett, by a stroke but maintained her order of merit leadership.

After the fourth round, Edith Wamalwa and Rukia Nalwoga remain fourth and fifth, respectively, with 296 and 300 net, respectively, while Charity Tushabomwe (566), Phionah Namanya, Sheila Ajok, Irene Ssekabembe, and Esther Aganyira complete the top ten in the women's standing that has 23 competitors.

In the men’s standings, Saidi Kirarira (handicap 14), who topped the men’s Group B with 65 nett ahead of Milton Edimu (69) in Saturday’s event, still leads the men’s order of merit with 283nett after the four rounds.

He is closely followed by Arthur Arinaitwe and Sean Kinsella, who are on 286 and 290nett, in second and third positions after the four rounds of the monthly competition.

Marvin Kagoro and Boniface Toko, who have 291net apiece, are tied in fourth, while Andrew Baguma (294), Andrew Kibaya (294), Mathias Kalule (295), Michael Monne (296) and Ssuubi Kiwanuka (296) complete the top ten in the event that has an average of about 130 golfers in action every month.
