The celebrated tactician who last year handled the national U17 and U20 teams before his position was declared vacant by the local football governing body FUFA, bounces back in a fresh appointment by the FUFA executive.

In a statement from the FUFA on Sunday, Khalifah’s appointment comes after having been selected among the many applicants as the best choice, while the rest of the positions of the senior women's football team coach and other under-age team positions will be named later.

“However, evaluation of applicants is ongoing for the Head Coach Women’s Senior Team (Crested Cranes), assistant head Coach Women’s Senior team, and Assistant coach U-17 Women’s team (Teen Cranes). The applicants for the age group categories for the men’s teams are also undergoing evaluation,” Read the statement.

The executive went on to appoint technical staff for all national teams in Mubarak Kiberu as goalkeeper trainer for all National women's teams, Felix Ayobo for fitness coach, Mable Kabatalindwa as teams doctor, and Prossy Nalwadda for kits woman.

Khalifah bounces back to the position he last held last year in a failed FIFA world cup qualifier against Ghana, where the Queen Cranes lost home and away to the Ghanaians.

He will be tasked to lead the side to yet another quest for a world cup slot, when Uganda meets Mozambique in a second-round meeting between October 6-8 for the first leg before the second leg a week later.
