Golfers brightened the sky at Entebbe Golf Club with fireworks that seem to have ignited a downpour that paralyzed the prize award ceremony for at least one hour.
This was at the climax of the club’s monthly Mug tournament which was dubbed the Mug of Mugs.
The tournament attracted 228 players men and women.
Bridget Basiima with handicap 14 took the day returning 64 gross and walked away with the biggest accolade of the day as the Entebbe Golf Club women's winner Peace Kabasweka appeared on the platform for the longest drive and nearest to the pin awards.
The MTN Uganda CEO, Sylvia Mulinge hailed Entebbe Golf Club members and thanked them for their cooperation for the last six months.
“Apart from the enjoyment and uniting golfers, we are also looking at developing the standard of the game to produce formidable players to strongly represent the country,” noted Mulinga.
She said that in the wake of promoting the club, MTN has resolved to construct a halfway house at the course and launched the project for the fancy tube structure that will act as a registry house among many other purposes.
