Four debutants named to She Cranes' Vitality Cup squad

While many of these players have been part of the team, this will be their first opportunity to represent Uganda, marking their debut on the international stage.

Coach Rashid Mubiru has unveiled a 12-player squad to represent Uganda at the upcoming Vitality Netball Nations Cup in the United Kingdom next month.

The squad includes Joan Ryekoboth, Hindu Namutebi, Nassimu Mutesi, and Privas Kayeny, who will join the She Cranes ranks. 

While many of these players have been part of the team, this will be their first opportunity to represent Uganda, marking their debut on the international stage.

“We selected this team based on the players' performances. It wasn’t just about training; it also involved their skills, fitness, and discipline,” coach Mubiru explained.

The team is set to depart for the United Kingdom on Tuesday, with final preparations scheduled for Sunday and Monday.

She Cranes: Christine Namulumba, Racheal Nanyonga, Mary Nuba, Irene Eyaru (captain), Margaret Bagala, Joan Ryekoboth, Hindu Namutebi, Penelope Amiya, Nassimu Mutesi, Gloria Aya, Sandra Nambirige, Haniisha Muhameed, Kayeny Privas.
