Uganda’s Cricket Cranes are fine-tuning their preparations for the ICC Challenge League B, set to take place next month in Kampala.

On Friday, the team had a fielding session at the Centurion Oval in South Africa, much to the delight of Coach Abhay Sharma, who emphasized the importance of training on such a high-quality pitch.

“We were at the Centurion, a test centre, and we are grateful to the Titans franchise for arranging a fielding session for the Uganda Cricket team on such a good ground. It will be a valuable experience for the team, and we appreciate everyone from South Africa for offering us this practice session,” stated Abhay Sharma.

First-class pitches are becoming familiar to Uganda’s cricket stars, who traveled to the Caribbean for the T20 World Cup earlier this year.

The team has been busy playing matches in South Africa, and the hope is that by the time they suit up for the Challenge League, they will have addressed some of the issues that plagued them in the shorter format of the game.
