The senior presidential advisor on agriculture, Peace Rugambwa, has urged radio presenters, content creators, influencers and TikTokers from the western region of Uganda to highlight the achievements of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) as they campaign for President Yoweri Museveni.

Rugambwa made the remarks during a meeting with media practitioners, radio presenters, influencers and content creators at Rwentobo in Ntungamo town council on October 19, 2025.

The presidential advisor is mobilising support for the NRM flag bearer, President Museveni, ahead of his campaign trail in the western region.

Rugambwa appealed to the radio presenters, social media influencers and content creators to ensure that the NRM’s significant achievements are well understood by the public in western Uganda. She argued that this would encourage voters to re-elect the incumbent in the 2026 general elections.

She vowed that the People's Front for Freedom (PFF) of jailed Kizza Besigye and the National Unity Platform (NUP) of presidential aspirant Robert Kyagulanyi would be defeated in the western region.

"Let's not give room for PFF and NUP to win any seats in western region," Rugambwa said.

She was joined by her counterpart for the Kigezi region, George William Kanagizi, who also appealed to the audience to mobilise support for the NRM flag bearer.

However, participants at the meeting asked Rugambwa to remind President Museveni to fulfil pledges made to the people of western Uganda since the 2021 presidential election campaigns. They noted that the opposition is using the unfulfilled pledges to de-campaign the NRM.

"The opposition is using unmet pledges to de-campaign NRM, please remind President Museveni," Evelyn Kabo of the Kasese Association of Female Journalists said.

Rugambwa commended journalists from western Uganda for their objective reporting and encouraged them to maintain the same spirit during the presidential campaigns.

She was accompanied by the coordinator of Team Peace Rugambwa, Kakyene Namanya, and Irene Sabiiti, a top official of the Team Peace Rugambwa campaign strategists, alongside officials from the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU).

The meeting attracted over 200 participants from 18 districts in the western region. To show solidarity, participants donned yellow T-shirts as they prepared to join the campaign trail across the 18 districts ahead of President Museveni’s campaign schedule.
