Woman held over Wakiso murder of Local Government officer

Police on Thursday confirmed the arrest of one Oliver Agadi in connection with the fatal stabbing of Local Government Finance Commission (LGFC) Principal Human Resource Officer, Moses Omaido.

The death occurred in Kamuli A Zone, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District.

Racheal Kawala, the Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) spokesperson, confirmed Agadi's arrest and detention. 

The incident, according to police, occurred on Thursday (March 26th) at about 6:00 am.

Police crime scene report indicates that the body of 44-year-old Omaido had a wound caused by a stabbing.

His body was recovered about 50 meters from the gate of his compound.

Investigations also indicate that he bled profusely from the injuries sustained.

The Government Finance Commission (LGFC) is primarily supervised by the Ministry of Local Government (MoLG), which is responsible for policy guidance and monitoring.

LGFC also works closely with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED) regarding fiscal policy and grant allocations. 

LGFC is an autonomous body responsible for advising the central government and local governments on matters related to fiscal decentralisation and the financing of local governments.
